Details of the €5 million variables Barcelona can pocket from Vitor Roque sale | OneFootball

After cutting short his loan stint at Real Betis, FC Barcelona confirmed the permanent departure of Vitor Roque to Brazilian club Palmeiras.

The 20-year-old returns to his homeland after an ill-fated 14-month stint in Spain, during which he neither got going at Barça nor Real Betis.

Even though the club did not announce the financial specifics of the sale, it has been reported that Palmeiras are paying Barcelona a fixed transfer fee of €25.5 million.

In addition, the Catalans can also earn an additional €5 million in variable bonuses, provided Roque meets some conditions during his stint at Palmeiras.

Now, journalist Jorge Nicola (h/t SPORT) has come forward with the details of these bonus clauses and the objectives that Vitor Roque needs to complete for Barcelona to receive the payout.

As per the report, the Blaugrana will be owed a sum of €2 million by Palmeiras if the 20-year-old striker finishes among the top three players at the FIFA Club World Cup later this year.

The Brazilian club would be compelled to shell out another €2 million to Barcelona if Roque goes on to win the Ballon d’Or during his time there.

Finally, Barça would be due a payment of €1 million if the Brazilian international wins any international competition with Palmeiras.

Given how things have gone so far for Roque in Spain, the youngster will be hoping to get his career back on track in his homeland.

However, the variable payment clauses, at least the first two, appear to be out of reach and the best-case scenario that Barcelona can hope for is to pocket €1 million if Roque helps Palmeiras to an international tournament victory.
