DFB set to unveil Jürgen Klopp as Germany coach on Friday

Sky Sports confirmed DFB will announce Jürgen Klopp’s appointment as Germany’s head coach on Friday at 11:00 CEST. The former Mainz and Borussia Dortmund coach worked as an analyst for MagentaTV during the 2026 World Cup.

DFB reached a total agreement to release the 59-year-old from his role as Head of Global Soccer for Red Bull GmbH. Klopp will be announced as the successor to Julian Nagelsmann with a press conference arranged for Friday.

Klopp took a sabbatical from managerial jobs since leaving Liverpool a couple of summers ago. During his spell with the English club, he won every trophy, including the Champions League and Premier League. Pepijn Lijnders, Peter Krawietz, Sven Bender and Pep Mertesacker are expected to join him in Germany’s coaching staff.
