Atletico Madrid coach emphasises titles after Atletico fans voice frustration

Diego Simeone reacts to boos following Champions League home loss
Diego Simeone said winning trophies is the only way to silence angry Atletico Madrid fans after the home defeat to Bodo/Glimt.
Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone believes titles are the only real answer to growing frustration from supporters following shocking 2-1 home defeat to Bodo/Glimt in Champions League.
The Norwegian side stunned Atletico at the Metropolitano Stadium during the final night of the league phase leaving fans furious.
After the match, loud boos were heard from the stands as supporters reacted to what was seen as unacceptable result on home soil.
Simeone asked how Atletico can turn the whistles into applause again. The long serving manager gave clear response, winning a trophy is the best way.
He explained that fans come to the stadium wanting to see team capable of competing for titles.
When supporters feel the team is falling behind or missing its goals, frustration becomes natural.
According to Simeone, success is the only thing that truly changes the mood around the club.
Atletico now have little time to dwell on the European setback. Simeone’s side, currently sitting third in LaLiga, travel to face Levante on Saturday.
The match is important for Atletico as they try to reduce the eight point gap separating them from league leaders Barcelona.
Levante are struggling near the bottom of the table in 19th place but Simeone stressed that Atletico must stay fully focused.
The defeat to Bodo/Glimt means Atletico will now play knockout playoff next month against Belgian club Club Brugge.
However Simeone insisted that the immediate priority remains the league match this weekend.
He also downplayed speculation around the transfer window saying the players are not thinking about possible new arrivals.
Simeone added that the squad is only focused on preparing for the next match calling repeated transfer questions “boring”.
