Corinthians have appointed Fernando Diniz after Dorival Júnior’s departure on Monday, seeking a more creative, front-foot side. According to Globo.com, the board valued his energetic leadership and attacking model.
Limited chance creation prompted Dorival’s exit despite two trophies. Dinizismo starts with the goalkeeper in short build-up, inviting the press and creating space behind.
Goalkeepers: Hugo Souza stands to benefit. He has acknowledged he likes using his feet and wants to help build play. Felipe Longo must show he suits the approach to challenge for starts.
Defence: Diniz favours short passing from the back with defenders and midfielders close to the keeper. Gustavo Henrique fits best. Gabriel Paulista and André Ramalho also offer quality and may contest one spot, with João Pedro as reserve.
Full-backs and rotations: he encourages freedom and role swaps. Matheuzinho and Bidu are not expected to lose their places. Hugo could thrive coming inside as seen at Goiás, while Bidu’s previous spells higher up suggest upside. Milans and João Vitor can grow beyond the flank.
Midfield focus near the ball underpins his game. Rodrigo Garro embodies that, offering angles and tempo. Breno Bidon rises too, and André Carrillo should gain minutes when back.
Up front, the short passing aims to open gaps to attack. Lingard, Memphis and especially Yuri Alberto suit the mobility and touch required. Pedro Raul and Gui Negão may see reduced roles and should adapt to the new coach.
