Manchester United’s poor start to the new season got worse as they were rocked by three injuries in the international break.
Matheus Cunha limped off against Burnley, while Mason Mount had to be taken off at half-time in the very same game.
And Diogo Dalot had to pull out of Portugal’s matches due to a muscle injury. He was given permission to return to Manchester to continue his rehabilitation.
As expected, without the trio, the Red Devils fell to a 0-3 defeat at the hands of noisy neighbours Manchester City last weekend.
Both the Brazilian and the Englishman made swift recoveries, with the duo emerging as second-half substitutes in Saturday’s win over Chelsea.
And now, as per Centredevils, Diogo Dalot is also inching closer to a return.
The report mentions that the 26-year-old’s injury is not as bad as initially feared, and he has already returned to training on grass.
“CentreDevils can exclusively reveal Diogo Dalot has returned to grass training and is making great progress on his recovery from injury.
“If recovery continues to go well, he could be back in action sooner rather than later. The injury is not seen as serious.”
Amorim will be delighted because his compatriot can not only play in a variety of roles at the back, but he is also part of the new-look leadership group.
Not only the Portugal international, but also Lisandro Martinez is edging closer to a return to first-team action.
The Peoples Person has already relayed that the World Cup winner is targeting a return to action in late October or early November.
