Divock Origi has announced his retirement from football at the age of 31, drawing the curtain on a career that will always be remembered fondly by Liverpool supporters.

While he may never have been a regular starter, Origi built a reputation for producing big moments when his team needed them most. Across eight years at Anfield, he scored 41 goals in 175 appearances and helped Liverpool win the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup under Jürgen Klopp.

One of his standout moments came in that 2019 final in Madrid, when he scored in Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Tottenham to seal the Champions League. He also produced a string of crucial goals in knockout matches and derbies, which cemented his cult-hero status on Merseyside.

Since leaving Liverpool in 2022, Origi's career never quite regained the same momentum. A move to AC Milan proved difficult, with just two goals in 36 appearances, before a loan spell at Nottingham Forest brought one goal in 22 games.

Origi also represented Belgium on 32 occasions. Though his career ends earlier than many expected, his Liverpool legacy is secure.
