Wolves are preparing themselves for last-minute Andre bids

Before Ryan Gravenberch made the defensive midfield spot in Liverpool's team his own, Brazilian midfielder Andre was on top of Arne Slot's shortlist.

Ever since Fabinho exited Anfield, Liverpool have struggled to find a midfielder who fits perfectly into their system as a number six.

And, after a move for Martin Zubimendi collapsed at the last hurdle, most of the burden was thrown onto the shoulders of Gravenberch who thrived on the pressure.

Since then, talk of a potential move for Adam Wharton has emerged, but, in reality, that transfer won't happen until the summer.

Which is why, as per a fresh update from the Daily Mail, Liverpool could be given the green light to sign Wolves' Andre, who they've previously enquired about.

Since Rob Edwards' men have been in some appalling form this term, they're looking to add more experience to their ranks with Kalvin Phillips being looked at as a potential option for them to explore.

Their interest in the Englishman has been 'revived' and the Premier League relegation battlers are set to 'brace themselves' for any 'late interest' in Andre.

Liverpool signing Andre would make plenty of sense

As mentioned, before Andre was signed by Wolves the Brazilian had been linked with an Anfield switch in their time of need.

The 24-year-old was one of the most sought-after defensive midfielders of the transfer window but, due to how well Gravenberch performed, the Reds turned their attention elsewhere.

Indeed, they could've made a move for the midfielder and signed him as a back up, but, at the time, there were other areas of the pitch which needed investing in.

There have been several times during his Premier League career that Andre has produced a masterclass but, since he's not been in the best run of form this term, he could be available for a cut-rate fee, especially if Wolves sign Phillips this January.

Wataru Endo isn't Premier League quality anymore and, unless the Reds start investing into some depth, they'll be left with no chance of earning some silverware.

Andre is still young and has plenty of potential to fulfil and, since he's already had plenty of Premier League experience, his arrival could massively help Liverpool out, especially since Gravenberch would be granted a decent bit of rest.
