For many weeks, it seemed like Serie A side Atalanta have sold Ederson to Manchester United. There was an agreement over a fee between the clubs and the deal was being upheld due to the player’s presence at the World Cup for Brazil.
Now, the move has fallen through. Voices in England had grown and the confirmation now comes from Italy. After Gianluca Di Marzio reported this, L’Eco di Bergamo add more information.
The local outlet report that Manchester United and Atalanta were in agreement over a fee. A physical test was held today and it revealed some knee problems. This led to the Red Devils further investigating a knee issue that Ederson was troubled by last season.
Sensing that as a red flag, Manchester United pulled the plug on the move.
This is likely to change Atalanta’s transfer plans and there is a chance he could even end up staying in Bergamo.
