Douglas Costa set to join... Italy's 4th division

After four months without a club, Douglas Costa could be signing with Chievo Verona, currently playing in Serie D. At 35, the Brazilian winger—who previously starred for Juventus, Bayern Munich, and Sydney FC—looks poised for a surprising return to Italy, but not just anywhere: he’s heading to the fourth tier of Italian football.

The move is a shrewd one: Chievo aims to bolster its squad for a promotion push to Serie C, while offering Costa a platform to regain fitness and gear up for his next challenge. The initiative comes from Pietro Lateraza, president of both Chievo and Al-Ittifaq in the UAE, who wants to bring Costa into his squad this summer.
