After the disappointing defeat at Cagliari and Roma’s goal-scoring crisis, Artem Dovbyk’s sudden recovery is like a ray of sunshine shining on Trigoria.

The Ukrainian striker has turned his recovery around and has put the torn left rectus femoris tendon, sustained on November 9th against Udinese, behind him.

The injury threatened to end his 2025 contract prematurely, but Dovbyk has surpassed even the most cautious predictions, which predicted a full return only against Genoa on December 29th.

The striker completed part of his training session yesterday with the rest of the squad, which also included Wesley, who was left out of the Cagliari squad due to a minor contracture.

Already on Wednesday, Dovbyk was back running on the Fulvio Bernardini pitch with a trainer, confirming he no longer feels any pain.

His return to the pitch will therefore be brought forward by two weeks, making him available for the match against Como on Monday, December 15th, the second-to-last home game of the calendar year.

Obviously, Corriere dello Sport writes, the Ukrainian will not be rushing ahead of Thursday’s European away match in Glasgow against Celtic, which he will watch from home, but he will be included in the squad for the next league match.
