Durham Women have signed Welsh international midfielder Alice Griffiths from Southampton for the remainder of the 2024/25 season.

She has played around 50 times for the Saints, whom she joined after a couple of years with Charlton Athletic also in the Barclays Women’s Championship.

Griffiths told durhamwfc.co.uk: “I’m really happy to be here. Durham are flying in the league, so I’m joining a team that’s really competitive and it seems like a great place to come.

“I was only here last week [with Southampton], it is clearly a club that has a lot of support and they have a lot of ambition.

“They’re always in and around the top of the table, so it is great to be a part of that now.”
