Paulo Dybala is waiting to learn his future.
The Argentine star’s intention is to stay in Rome and extend his current contract, which expires on June 30th.
His agent, Carlos Novel, was in Trigoria yesterday to discuss the situation with his client.
Unfortunately, there’s no one at the Fulvio Bernardini to talk to, especially since Massara is simply waiting to say goodbye to the capital.
Dybala’s agent, therefore, met with Gian Piero Gasperini, who has been a close ally for days.
The last contact regarding a renewal dates back to a month ago, when Massara hinted that there might be a chance for an extension, given the coach’s desire to keep him in the squad. Then the internal turmoil at Roma put a stop to everything.
Paulo Dybala arrived in Rome in 2022 with a rising contract.
The Argentine star earned €3.5 million plus bonuses in his first season, but in 2023 his salary rose to €4.6 million, then €6 million, and finally the current €8 million.
This salary also includes any bonuses. The Giallorossi’s number 21 is aware he won’t be able to continue earning the same figures as today, but a clear salary cut could lead to an agreement.
As La Gazzetta dello Sport reports, the base salary could drop from the current €8 million to €2-2.5 million plus bonuses.
Some of this could also be linked to the centenary jerseys sold. Otherwise, it’s goodbye to Boca Juniors, who can wait. Dybala, in fact, wants to continue playing in Europe or, at most, he could go to Miami.
