The transfer window is unlikely to truly get going until after this summer's World Cup, but several sides are wasting no time in getting deals done.

Some high-profile clubs have secured some early wins in the window so far, and we've looked at three to have started their summer recruitment in impressive fashion.

Real Madrid

Consecutive campaigns without silverware is almost unheard of atReal Madrid, and has prompted an aggressive start to their summer spending. Florentino Perez has been re-elected as president for another tenure, while Jose Mourinho has returned to Madrid as head coach.

The Spanish giants have continued their recent trend of acquiring high-profile free agents, with Bernardo Silva and Ibrahima Konate arriving from thePremier League.

Los Blancos have also secured Spain international Marc Cucurella from Chelsea at left-back, and landed Denzel Dumfries from Inter Milan for a very reasonable £17.1m.

Those four players have won 11 league titles between them across their careers to date, and all arrive ready to make an immediate impact. Trophy-winning experience and squad depth added early in the window.

Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur non-executive chairman, Peter Charrington, honestly admitted that 'football success had not been driving decisions' in North London in recent seasons, following the club's second straight flirtation with Premier League relegation.

Spurs have ripped up the previous script this summer, raising the bar for investment in transfer fees and wages in an attempt to challenge the top teams.

Already, Spurs have twice shattered their transfer record. Mateus Fernandes arrived from West Ham for a fee of £85m, before a deal for Sandro Tonali was completed for a fee that could reach £100m with add-ons.

Proven Premier League performers Andy Robertson, Marcos Senesi and Martin Dubravka have been signed as free agents to add depth and experience, while Jan Paul van Hecke's £52m move from Brighton has improved the squad further.

Spurs, for the first time in a long time, appear to mean business.

Bayer Leverkusen

Bayer Leverkusen's summer recruitment might not immediately jump off the page, but the German side's quiet purchases of some serious young talent should be applauded.

Leverkusen won a competitive race to land Kennet Eichhorn from Hertha Berlin, with the 16-year-old regarded as one of Europe's best talents in his age bracket.

Fellow teenager Kerim Alajbegović has returned to the club from Red Bull Salzburg after catching the eye at the World Cup, while Afonso Moreira has joined in a €29.5m deal after an exciting season at Lyon.

With emerging Serbian striker Aleksa Damjanovic also in the door, Leverkusen have signed a quartet of prospects with huge potential, all aged 21 or under. The future looks bright.
