The permanent signing of Bara Sapoko Ndiaye is getting closer and closer. After numerous recent indications pointed to an imminent deal, sporting director Max Eberl has now provided another positive update on the transfer of the 18-year-old midfield prospect.

FC Bayern continues to work on the final formalities for the permanent signing of Bara Sapoko Ndiaye. The Senegalese player, who already played for the record champions on loan during the second half of last season, is set to wear the Munich jersey on a permanent basis going forward.

Max Eberl made it clear on the sidelines of the Audi Summer Tour in Jeju that the transfer is now only a matter of time. The sporting director expressed optimism about the current status of the negotiations.

“It’s becoming more and more likely; it won’t be long now,” Eberl said, referring to the upcoming transfer.

The Bayern boss had previously explained why the signing could not yet be officially announced. According to him, the delay is not due to sporting reasons, but rather to the complex contractual arrangements involving Ndiaye’s former club, Gambinos Stars. At the same time, Eberl emphasized that the 18-year-old has already received permission to join the team on its tour of Asia.

Internally, the Munich club has long been planning to incorporate the talented midfielder into its roster. Following the sale of Noel Aseko, a spot opened up on the professional roster that Ndiaye is expected to fill in the future.

The Senegalese player quickly made a name for himself during the second half of last season and has already made four competitive appearances for Bayern’s first team. Coach Vincent Kompany is considered a strong advocate for signing him permanently and is said to have spoken out early on in favor of the youngster staying with the club long-term.

According to consistent media reports, Munich is paying a transfer fee for Ndiaye of well under five million euros. With this transfer, FC Bayern continues its strategy of securing promising young players for the club on a long-term basis at an early stage.
