David Moyes has given great praise to Eddie Howe and his Newcastle United team ahead of today’s match against Everton at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
The Toffees boss declaring; “Eddie Howe’s team have achieved incredible things in recent years…”
David Moyes referencing Newcastle qualifying for the Champions League twice in three seasons and Eddie Howe leading the club to their first trophy in 56 years.
The Everton manager also speaking about the unveiling today of a bench in memory of the much-missed Gary Speed.
David Moyes programme notes ahead of Everton v Newcastle United:
‘Today we welcome another side in good form, a Newcastle team which is coming here off the back of a victory over Manchester City last time out in the league.
Eddie Howe’s team have achieved incredible things in recent years, qualifying for the Champions League in two of the past three seasons and landing the club’s first piece of silverware for many years. They have certainly showed themselves to be one of the strongest teams in the Premier League and we welcome them to our new stadium.
I would also like to mention a special player who proudly represented both Everton and Newcastle, the late and much-missed Gary Speed.
Today the Club is unveiling a bench in his memory, a place where people who feel the need to talk can go and have a conversation.
I hope both Everton and Newcastle supporters will take the time visit the bench and remember Gary Speed when they do so.
