After a long career studded with goals in Italy and Europe, Edin Dzeko could soon return to the spotlight in Serie A.

At 39, the Bosnian striker has no intention of hanging up his boots and, after his experience at Fenerbahce, he is ready to embark on a new adventure in the Italian championship.

Fiorentina seem ready to bet on his experience.

As reported by Nicolò Schira, the Viola are now very close to closing the deal with Dzeko, who will officially be a free agent from 1 July after deciding not to extend his contract with the Turkish club.

Fiorentina have reportedly offered him a two-year contract worth 2 million euros net per season plus bonuses, thus beating out competition from Bologna.

At the same time, the Tuscan club is also preparing for a change on the bench: Stefano Pioli, former coach of Fiorentina and Milan, should be made official in the next few days as the new coach, replacing Raffaele Palladino.
