Edu has been removed from his duties and told to stay away from Nottingham Forest’s facilities, eight months after arriving, The Telegraph reports.
The Brazilian, appointed as global director of football across Evangelos Marinakis’s clubs, has been instructed not to attend the training ground or the City Ground and is expected to depart before the end of the season.
He was again absent from the stands on Wednesday night, the third match in succession, as Forest drew 2-2 with Manchester City at the City Ground.
Forest have cycled through four head coaches since the start of the season and spent €230m in the summer, with little impact so far.
Edu fell out with Nuno Espirito Santo, who was sacked and replaced by Ange Postecoglou. He then appointed Sean Dyche, who was also dismissed and succeeded by Vitor Pereira.
Forest are 17th in the Premier League, outside the relegation zone only on goal difference, at -15 compared with -19 for West Ham, with nine matches left.
