According to Get German Football News, Eintracht Frankfurt duo Younes Ebnoutalib and Ayoube Amaimouni-Echghouyab will be called up by Morocco. New head coach Mohamed Ouabhi has named both in his preliminary squad for the March window.
Both were born outside Morocco, Ebnoutalib in Frankfurt and Amaimouni-Echghouyab in Spain, and qualify through their parents.
As only friendlies are scheduled in March, Ebnoutalib could still represent Germany thereafter. Morocco are due to face Ecuador and Paraguay in the final window before the World Cup.
If they impress, a place in America at the 2026 World Cup could follow.
Ebnoutalib moved to the Waldstadion in winter from Elversberg for eight million euros after scoring 12 in 17 there. The 22-year-old has featured twice for die Adler, scoring on debut, but has been sidelined by injury since.
Amaimouni-Echghouyab arrived from Hoffenheim’s second team for two hundred thousand euros. In the 3.Liga he produced nine goals and six assists in 18 games, then has nine Bundesliga appearances with two goals and one assist.
