Michy Batshuayi scored a stoppage-time penalty to secure a 1-1 draw at home to VfL Wolfsburg.

Three changes  Head coach Dino Toppmöller brought in three new faces following the Champions League meeting with Atalanta on Wednesday, as Rasmus Kristensen, Ellyes Skhiri and Jean-Mattéo Bahoya came in for Nnamdi Collins, Mo Dahoud (both on the bench) and the injured Jonathan Burkardt.  Chance for Götze  Eintracht forced their visitors onto the back foot from the outset and had the first sight of goal in the 12th minute when Bahoya laid the ball off for Mario Götze, whose curling right-footed effort narrowly missed the target.  Zetterer in the way At the other end of the pitch, Christian Eriksen’s eye-catching pass into the box sent Mohammed Amoura one-on-one with Michael Zetterer, but the Frankfurt goalkeeper darted off his line to make a superb save (22’).

Eintracht increase the pressure With half-time approaching, the Eagles intensified their efforts going forward. Kamil Grabara saved a shot from Kristensen (32’) and Yannick Gerhardt cleared an effort from Arthur Theate off the line (42’), leaving the game goalless at the interval. Zetterer on hand again  The Eintracht goalkeeper was called into action once more just before the hour-mark, and although he could only parry Christian Eriksen’s dangerous long-range attempt (59’), he scrambled out to block Amoura’s follow-up and keep the score at 0-0.

Zehnter breaks the deadlock Zetterer was powerless to prevent Wolfsburg taking the lead a short while later, though, as a right-wing cross from Saël Kumbedi sailed to the back post, where Aaron Zehnter beat Kristensen to the ball to volley in from close range (68’). Batshuayi salvages a point

Eintracht were awarded a penalty in stoppage time after Dennis Varo fouled Theate inside the box, allowing Michy Batshuayi to thump an unstoppable spot-kick in off the crossbar (90‘+6). Toppmöller’s side could even have snatched the win seconds later, but Ritsu Doan’s effort went just over.
