This Friday evening marks a return to action for Celtic FC Women as they face off against Hamilton Accies.
It will be familiar surroundings for the Hoops at New Douglas Park, but it will, in fact, be an away fixture, with Accies also playing their home games in South Lanarkshire.
Eleven days on since their last outing in the SPWPL, the Ghirls are looking to get back to winning ways, and speaking to Celtic TV ahead of Friday’s fixture, Elena Sadiku said: “Obviously, the staff has reflected since the last game and I’ve had individual talks with almost all the players.
“The mood has been really good within the camp. Not only has the mood been good, but the quality in training has been really good.
“It also shows that the result against Glasgow City has not affected us and stopped the belief of what we want to do.
“The camp is really good. Having five players back, with Saoirse Noonan, Emma Lawton, Lisa Rodgers, Maria McAneny and Amy Richardson today has been really, really good.
‘They have come back with great energy. So, it’s been a good environment.’
“Having those players away, it shows that we are doing good things here. We're developing players and making sure we are helping them to take new steps all the time.
“It makes us all proud to see players going away and representing their countries.
“That is something as a player, you always want to do. So I’m proud of those players, but I’ve also been really proud of the players who have been here, working hard.”
With the Hoops looking to get back to winning ways, they face Hamilton Accies, who currently sit bottom of the SPWPL.
However, that is not something Elena Sadiku and her squad will be looking at, with another three important league points up for grabs.
The Head Coach wants her side to keep learning and growing as a team, and that journey continues on Friday night.
“The quality and intensity we’ve had this week has been great,” she said. “And we really want to see that tomorrow.
“We’ve talked about that we are always going to learn and we’re going to have a journey that is not always going to go up.
"It will have ups and downs, and we want to make sure that the downs are much higher so that we can become more consistent. This is the time that we can show how we’ve learned and how we’ve grown as a team.”
