Elland Road’s major redevelopment is under way, with construction advancing around the West and North Stands to lift capacity to 53,000. Work officially began last month after the season ended.
The club said in a statement that the project represents a significant moment in Leeds United history. Works include the removal of the Banqueting Suite, demolition of the ticket office and the taking down of floodlights.
West Stand works are scheduled to finish in 2028, raising capacity from 8,000 to 17,750. The external structure outside the stand is currently being demolished.
The North Stand expansion is set to take a further two years, increasing from a maximum capacity of 10,414 to 15,300. A temporary structure behind the stand is taking shape, expected to host corporate facilities during the works.
Activity is also under way inside the ground, with pitch and dugout works due to be completed in time for next season.
The overall redevelopment is expected to complete in 2030. Leeds United are next due to host RB Leipzig in a pre-season friendly on the weekend of August 8/9.
