TEAMtalk reports that a summer move to Manchester City for Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson has been viewed as a 'done deal' for weeks.
The report says his display against Pep Guardiola’s side on Wednesday helped make up minds on pursuing his signature, after he struck to secure a 2-2 draw.
Anderson is expected to attract interest at season’s end regardless of Forest’s division. Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea have been linked, and his boyhood club Newcastle would like him back. Newcastle sold him for £35 million in 2024, and Eddie Howe has said a reunion would be most welcome.
Forest value the England international highly. Figures of £70-90m have been floated, and a good World Cup could push any fee higher.
Morgan Gibbs-White and Murillo are also drawing interest. Gibbs-White was on City’s radar 12 months ago and is now said to be wanted by Tottenham Hotspur, who came close to signing him last summer, and Aston Villa. Murillo has been linked with United and Chelsea.
It points to a pivotal summer by the Trent, with rivals circling and a squad overhaul likely whether Forest stay up or drop into the second tier.
