The South African Football Association (SAFA) has announced the final Amajimbos squad for the 2025 U17 World Cup set to be staged in Qatar from 03 to 27 November 2025.
Cape Town City starlet Emile Witbooi, who was recently named in the Guardian's next generation top 60 talents in the world, headlines the team.
Highly rated goalkeeper Lwandiso Radebe, who signed for Mamelodi Sundowns a fortnight ago, is also part of the squad as he is expected to get the nod to start in goal.
In defense, the squad boasts of starlets such as Sive Pama and Liam Marthinus, among others who form a strong defensive unit.
The midfield only consists of three players in captain Kamohelo Mareletse, Joshua Taylor, and Teboho Mlangeni.
Kaizer Chiefs' Dstv Diski Challenge [DDC] striker Neo Bohloko and Alwande Booysen of Golden Arrows, along with Selwyn Stevens and Witbooi, among others, are expected to provide firepower.
The South African U17 national team has been pitted in Group A alongside Bolivia, Italy, and the host nation Qatar.
Amajimbos will open their campaign with a clash against Bolivia on Monday, 03 November, before facing Italy three days later and Qatar on 09 November.
