Emily Lima deployed forward Rhaizza at left-back to cover for Tamires.

According to Meu Timao, makeshift full-backs have been a theme since her arrival in February. Since April, attacking midfielder Ivana Fuso has started regularly at right-back ahead of Gi Fernandes. In May, Lima highlighted Ivana’s attacking profile and said she does not want a full-back who only plays backwards.

At Corinthians since the start of the year, Rhaizza has 293 minutes across 10 games, an average of 29.3 per match, with eight wins and two defeats. She usually comes off the bench and is used mostly on the left wing.

The win over Ferroviária lifted Corinthians to seven points, restoring second place and trimming the gap to two points behind the Araraquara club, who lead the Campeonato Paulista. This year the state championship has a new format, with the top two reaching the semi-finals and teams in third to seventh playing a play-in for the remaining two spots.

The Brabas now turn to the Copa do Brasil round of 16 on Monday, facing Ferroviária at 20:00 at Arena Fonte Luminosa in Araraquara.
