Emotional Antony breaks down during Real Betis presentation: ‘What happened at Man United…’ | OneFootball

New Real Betis signing Antony could not help but allow his emotions to show, after being unveiled as a Verdiblancos player on Tuesday.

Wide-man Antony’s long-anticipated return to Seville was of course made official late last night.

Just hours out from the transfer deadline, the Betis brass at last struck a deal with their Manchester United counterparts, to bring the Brazilian back to the club on a permanent basis.

As much marks a dream fulfilled for Antony, who has openly admitted to rediscovering his love for the game whilst on loan at the Estadio Benito Villamarín last season.

And as alluded to above, during his unveiling in front of the media on Tuesday, the former Ajax man was overcome by emotion.

With tears welling up in his eyes, Antony provided a brief insight into the difficulties he endured at Man United this summer:

“What happened in Manchester, only I know how difficult it was. I’m sorry. Training separately, but that’s part of life. I knew this moment would come. It’s in the past.”
