England vs Ghana live: Chloe Kelly starts for Lionesses as Sarina Wiegman makes sweeping changes for friendly | OneFootball

England play their last friendly game of the year against Ghana on Tuesday, with the Lionesses riding high after an 8-0 drubbing of China last week.

Georgia Stanway scored a hat-trick while Lauren Hemp, Ella Toone, Beth Mead and Alessia Russo all found the back of the net in a total rout in front of appreciative crowds at Wembley.

Sarina Wiegman made seven changes from that match with Lucia Kendall, Aggie Beever-Jones and Jess Park among the players hoping to impress the manager tonight. This will be the first time that England have faced Ghana, who are unbeaten in seven games since a loss to South Africa in the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations this summer.

Off the pitch, ITV presenter Laura Woods collapsed live on air after being ‘taken ill’ with Katie Shanahan replacing her alongside pundits Ian Wright and Anita Asante for the game.

Can Toone beat Mead and James?

Ella Toone has both the most goal involvements (11) and most assists (6) of any England player in 2025 – the last Lioness to record seven assists in a calendar year was Lauren James in 2023 and the last to provide eight or more was Beth Mead in 2022 (10).

Georgia Stanway scored her first international hat-trick against China last weekend and since her England debut in November 2018 only Beth Mead (37 goals, 29 assists) has more goals and more assists than the midfielder (29 goals, 19 assists), who is now two away from 50 goal involvements for the Lionesses.

Ghana manager Kim Lars Bjorkegren speaking on ITV:

"We play against one of the best teams in the world right now. We need to try and be ourselves and do our best.They have so many players and we saw against China how brutal they can be.

"I hope we can give the players some experience from big games and hopefully we are going to play the World Cup.

"Some of the best players in the world are from Africa. Our team is good as well. They have taken steps."

Ruthless Wiegman

England beat China 8-0 last time out in what was their biggest win since September 2022 vs Luxembourg (10-0).

It was the eighth time the Lionesses have won a game by eight or more goals under Sarina Wiegman, at least five more such wins than under any other manager.
