Boca have confirmed the arrival of Enner Valencia as their fourth signing, with the Ecuador forward expected to sign an 18-month contract after leaving Pachuca of Mexico.
According to LaNumer12.com.ar, he will land in Argentina on Friday to finalise details, then undergo a medical on Saturday morning before completing the move if all goes to plan.
The board accelerated the deal to add firepower up front, and Valencia accepted the sporting proposal once his contract in Mexican football ended.
If the tests bring no surprises, he will put pen to paper at the club’s Ezeiza offices. The move answers a direct request from head coach Rodolfo Arruabarrena after Adam Bareiro’s injury.
To enable the signing, Boca created an extra registration slot by loaning youngster Iker Zufiaurre abroad, which opened the regulatory window. They also freed a foreign-player place by selling Uruguayan full-back Marcelo Saracchi.
The 36-year-old will be registered for current competitions once the deal is sealed. His arrival follows the additions of right-back Leandro Lozano, goalkeeper Álvaro Montero and forward Sebastián Villa as the club seeks depth and balance.
