Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has been speaking to the media this afternoon ahead of his side’s Premier League clash against Brighton.

The Blues meet Brighton again after losing to them in the FA Cup fourth round on Saturday night, but this time it’s a Premier League match up.

EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea have laid down ground work in deal to sign striker BEFORE Club World Cup!

The Italian will be hoping for a better outcome in the league as they battle for Champions League qualification this season.

Maresca has already been explaining that he could setup differently on Friday due to injuries to his only two strikers, Marc Guiu and Nicolas Jackson.

The Blues boss has also explained why he said he thought Jackson was initially ‘OK’ after his injury but he is not out for 6-8 weeks.

And then there was some injury news and in fact, it’s very positive injury news for a change on Wesley Fofana. There was talk that Fofana was going to miss the rest of this season at one point, but it sounds like he is actually going to be back very soon now.

Maresca says on Fofana in words quoted by Football London:

“He started with us a few days ago. It doesn’t mean he will be with us very soon – he still needs two or three weeks. The thing we can see him with the squad, it is already a good feeling.”

This is fantastic news. The fact he is going to be back in two or three weeks sounds very positive and I hope he can stick to that. It will then be a bit of time for him to get back match fit and on the pitch again, but hopefully Maresca will introduce him gradually and get him fully ready to go again very soon.
