Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has turned defeat on it’s head and believes his team can now build something after this.

He saw his side get beaten 3-1 by European giants Bayern Munich away from home in the Champions League last night, and we know that no team would ever find it easy to go there and get something.

EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea add new centre back name to list of targets and could move on him in January!!

Bayern are in fine form this season as well, so it was always going to be a hard task for Chelsea. They turned up though and really, they will be frustrated not to get something out of the game because they were very much in it for large parts of it.

I think in the end Bayern won the game because they are just a more experienced and professional team and also, they were helped massively by Chelsea mistakes. We saw self-inflicted goals conceded from Chelsea as Bayern went 2-0 up early on.

The first goal came from a re-taken free kick that turned into a drop ball because it hit the Ref. Chelsea were caught off guard and conceded a very soft goal from a cross that went past a couple of Chelsea players before rocketing into the goal off Trevoh Chalobah.

Palmer got Chelsea back into it

The brilliance of Cole Palmer then pulled Chelsea back into the game and gave Blues fans hope as 2-0 became 2-1 and fans started to believe we could see a comeback.

But it wasn’t to be and after another mistake by Chelsea, Malo Gusto to be precise, Harry Kane scored his second of the night to make it 3-1 and game over.

Maresca spinning a positive

After the game, Maresca said in a video you can catch on X:

“The mistakes we did, we can learn from that.

“I have a feeling we can build something special from this defeat.”
