Erling Haaland played down Norway’s final group match against France after a 3-2 win over Senegal secured a place in the last 16, adding that France would probably beat them and were his pick to win the World Cup.

"Honestly, I do not really care about that match now. We are qualified. We have made it through, which is incredible," he said of Friday’s meeting with France at 21:00, speaking to Fox Sports.

The victory confirmed Norway’s progress to the knockout phase, their first appearance in a major tournament last 16 since the 1998 World Cup.

"France will probably beat us. They will surely win the tournament," Haaland said.

With qualification secured, Norway’s focus will shift quickly to the knockout rounds after completing their group campaign against France.
