A big push is now needed from FC Barcelona as the team looks to clinch La Liga. With just one more win needed, La Blaugrana will be ready to give it their all. However, Barcelona can not afford to get overconfident now just before they get to the finish line.
Coincidentally, however, they can now win La Liga by winning their next game against Espanyol. As direct rivals, it can already be expected that this game will be a heated one, and the other team from Barcelona will not want Hansi Flick’s team to secure their La Liga title against them.
Still, the last win over Real Madrid was a major one for the Catalan giants ahead of this game against Espanyol. Thanks to that win against Los Blancos, La Blaugrana now simply need just one more win from their last three games in La Liga this season.
However, Hansi Flick will want to make sure that his team does it as soon as possible to avoid any complications later on. With games against Espanyol, Villarreal, and Athletic Club left, none of these matches are going to be easy to win but Barcelona have the quality to do it.

In this particular game, at the Stage Front Stadium, Barça will be up against a major rival in their stadium. Thus, the atmosphere is expected to be intense and it will be a crowd that will hardly be happy for Barcelona if they end this game with all three points and the La Liga title secured.
However, Espanyol have not exactly been at their best lately. Currently placed 16th in the league, they have lost their last three matches in La Liga. Moreover, they have just one win in their last five games in the competition and that came against Getafe.
At the same time, however, they do not lose easily at their home ground. It took Real Betis a late winner to get all three points recently, and the last time they lost at home before that was in October of last year. Moreover, even Real Madrid lost the last time they visited this ground.
Barcelona, however, remain unfazed by such statistics. As the best team in Spain this season, Hansi Flick’s team will be looking to go all out against Espanyol and win that La Liga title that they have been looking at and working for all season long. Unfortunately, they will be playing this game without Jules Kounde and Ferran Torres, who recently underwent surgery.
In terms of form, moreover, Barça is simply a level above Espanyol. They have only two losses since the start of 2025, and both of them came in the UEFA Champions League. In domestic competitions, Barcelona remain unbeaten since the beginning of the new year and they have overcome the likes of both Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid on multiple occasions, even beating Los Blancos in the Spanish Super Cup and Copa del Rey finals.
With the Copa del Rey and Spanish Super Cup already sealed, this is now Barça’s opportunity to win a domestic treble in Hansi Flick’s first season at the club. A massive achievement in its own right, but it would be regarded as being even more special considering that this is Flick’s very first season at Barcelona.
