Liverpool are going to go through a lot of changes this summer.

The Anfield outfit massively underperformed this season and, without some new faces being brought in, it's hard to see how they'd do any better next term.

Indeed, Andoni Iraola may have taken over from Arne Slot which is already a step in the right direction but it's still not enough to guarantee that they'll be able to compete for silverware again.

Several members of their first-team squad will probably be back from injury which will help them out massively but, with others such as Hugo Ekitike out until at least January, there's a lot of decisions that need to be made about the Reds' team.

Bayern Munich are interested in signing Rio Ngumoha

Several members of Liverpool's first-team squad have already moved on.

Ibrahima Konate and Andy Robertson have already had their next teams confirmed with Mohamed Salah's future still up in the air.

However, one player that Liverpool fans didn't think that they'd have to worry about being sold is Rio Ngumoha.

The 17-year-old has been one of the only shining lights in a rather poor Liverpool squad with his energy and his pace giving the Anfield outfit something they didn't have during the rest of the campaign.

This good form has clearly not gone unnoticed with Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg sharing that Bayern Munich had phone calls with Ngumoha about a potential move.

"The deal between FC Bayern and Rio Ngumoha already collapsed yesterday (despite a verbal agreement) because it was clear behind the scenes that Liverpool would NOT sell the player," he wrote via his personal X account.

"However, there were phone calls, meetings and direct talks between Vincent Kompany/Ngumoha.

"As also reported by David Ornstein, Ngumoha became Bayern’s primary target once the Anthony Gordon deal began to collapse.

"Bayern are now focused on two transfers: Nathaniel Brown and Ismael Saibari. If both deals go through, it’s very likely that NO additional left winger will be signed, as both players are capable of playing in that position."

Bayern Munich confirm that Rio Ngumoha is the next big thing

Ngumoha is only 17 years old but that hasn't stopped him from being a regular feature in Liverpool's XI.

A lot of his appearances have come off the bench this term but, towards the end of the campaign, the Englishman was a regular member of Slot's starting XI.

He's played in 29 games across all competitions this term and has contributed to three goals.

His versatility of being able to play anywhere across the front three is massive and, with how bad Cody Gakpo has been this term, he could easily become Liverpool's starting left-winger under Iraola.

Most people in England can see the potential that Ngumoha has but, now that Bayern have shown an interest in him, that has been confirmed.

The only problem that Liverpool have is the two years left on his current deal.

If they can't agree terms with the 'special' attacker soon, they could end up losing him for a cut-rate fee or even for nothing.
