Tottenham, Manchester United and Rangers among teams looking to progress
The Europa League reaches the penultimate round of first-stage fixtures this week.
Lazio lead the way and look on course to secure progression into the knockout rounds, while Atletico Bilbao and Galatasaray are also looking strong.
Manchester United and Rangers both sit in the top eight too as they head into Thursday night’s huge battle of Britain at Old Trafford.
Tottenham also have eyes on a top-eight finish which would see them progress knockout stages automatically but must reverse their dreadful domestic form when they head into Thursday’s trip to German outfit Hoffenheim.
Like in the Champions League this season, the teams who finish in the top eight will reach the round of 16, which begins in March.
Teams who finish between ninth and 24th will have to contest a two-legged knockout round next month.
Those who finish between 25th and 36th will be eliminated from European competition entirely.
