Nottingham Forest received £38m in fresh funding across April, May and June, pushing 2025-26 owner support past £100m. According to NY Times, Companies House filings show £11.5m in April, £15m in May and £11.5m in June.

Added to £48.23m in September 2025 and £15.04m in December, the total reached £101.3m. Forest are 80 per cent owned by Evangelos Marinakis.

The scale underlines the cost of a season that still delivered a Europa League semi-final. A fall from seventh to 16th reduced Premier League prize money by about £15m.

Across the eight seasons to 2024-25 they lost £237m, posting a profit only in 2023-24 when sales of Brennan Johnson, Orel Mangala, Moussa Niakhate and Odysseas Vlachodimos turned a £75m operating loss into a £10m profit. Losses exceeded £70m the following year.

Marinakis then added £89.1m and external lending rose by £25m, with an £80m Apollo Management loan refinancing debt. 2025-26 was their most reliant yet, taking his support near £350m.

Only £36m went on infrastructure in the eight years to June 2025, from £336m of total funding including borrowing. With the Peter Taylor Stand still in design, most outlay covered operations and transfers, and another sizeable 2025-26 loss looks likely.

The £116m sale of Elliot Anderson to Manchester City was announced on 2 July, so it falls into 2026-27. Forest were docked four points for PSR in March 2024 and avoided a UEFA breach despite £128m losses across three years. With Oliver Glasner in charge, they aim to return to Europe.
