Evann Guessand (23) suffered an ankle injury during OGC Nice’s draw against Toulouse FC (1-1) over the weekend. However, there is not a great deal of concern at the club.
Guessand has been a key player for Nice this season, leading the line in the absence of Terem Moffi, who suffered an ACL injury in pre-season. The Ivorian has more than compensated for Moffi’s absence, netting 10 goals and registering seven assists in 29 appearances in all competitions.
However, there was an element of concern on Sunday after Guessand was forced off against Toulouse. He was forced off in the 67th minute with the issue. Franck Haise, however, played down the injury during his post-match press conference. Whilst the Nice manager admitted that the ankle “moved” a little, he said that the striker is fine and so it is expected that he will return, either on Wednesday in the Coupe de France, or at the weekend, against RC Lens.
