Manchester United returned to winning ways, securing their first victory at the Hill Dickinson Stadium with a 1–0 win over Everton in the Premier League.
Benjamin Šeško scored late in the second half to settle the contest, lifting the Red Devils back into the top four.
Manchester United were handed an early warning when a back pass to Senne Lammens straight from kick-off was aggressively closed down by Thierno Barry, forcing the goalkeeper to concede a hurried clearance.
Despite the lively start, the first clear opportunity fell to United. Matheus Cunha saw his effort blocked before Amad followed up, only for Jordan Pickford to punch the shot clear.
United looked unsettled during the opening fifteen minutes, frequently surrendering possession despite controlling much of the ball.
Barry later went down following a challenge from Kobbie Mainoo, briefly leaving Everton with ten men while he received treatment, though he was soon able to continue.
Amad then won a free kick after being tugged by Jarrad Branthwaite. Bruno Fernandes’ delivery was only partially cleared to Dalot, whose driven effort had Pickford scrambling but drifted wide.
Just past the half-hour mark, Bryan Mbeumo attempted to test Jordan Pickford, though his effort rolled harmlessly wide for a goal kick.
At the break, United had registered six shots with two on target, while Everton had managed just one effort of note.
James Garner’s long-range free kick was comfortably gathered by Lammens, and the sides went into half-time level at 0–0, with Everton finishing the half the stronger of the two.
Everton carried that momentum into the second half, creating an early opening as Dewsbury-Hall forced Lammens into a save.
United responded through Mbeumo, who found space but blazed his effort over the bar.
With just under an hour played, Šeško replaced Amad Diallo as United looked to inject more attacking threat.
Everton nearly took the lead when Idrissa Gana Gueye struck after Lammens punched clear from a corner, but United defenders threw themselves in the way to block the effort.
Moments later, Cunha tracked back to make a crucial defensive intervention, cutting out Garner’s dangerous cross.
United’s breakthrough finally arrived thirteen minutes after his introduction. Šeško latched onto Mbeumo’s clever pass on the counterattack and calmly converted to give United a 1–0 lead.
