Everton extend Galli’s contract by a further year | OneFootball

Everton have opted to take up a one-year entension option in the contract of midfielder Aurora Galli.

The Toffees announced the news via a post on their official club website this afternoon.

The Italian international was set to be out of contract at Goodison Park this summer but she is now remaining on Merseyside for another 12 months.

Galli joined Everton from Juventus in summer 2021. The move saw her become the first Italian to play in the Barclays Women’s Super League. The midfielder has played an important role for The Toffees throughout her time at the club.

Galli has a key role to play as Everton look to kick on and the club have therefore moved to extend her contract by a further year.

After signing her new deal with Everton, Galli said “Everton as a club is passion, it is family. It’s a community that helps each other, fights for each other. The fans have always been there from day one until now. They are what makes something very specific about one club. Everton is not just a club, it is created by fans and incredible support.

“It has been tough with my injury, of course, but with Scott [Phelan], I think he is amazing. I really like him. He is real, there is no filter. I love people like that. If he needs to say something, he will say it to you. I could see it from the beginning: he is a great human-being and coach.

“I think that he can give us a lot from his side because everyone loves him, so it is just perfect like that.”
