According to the Mirror, Everton have enquired about Sunderland striker Wilson Isidor, with head of player trading Nick Hammond making the check, no club-to-club contact yet, the 25-year-old on a shortlist, Sunderland valuing him at £25m, and he is admired by David Moyes, with no guarantee it goes further.

Isidor is a fan favourite on Wearside and is joint-top scorer for the Black Cats in the Premier League this season with four goals after stepping up from the Championship, but he has not scored since late October.

Everton are understood to be in the market for attacking reinforcements, with Thierno Barry still adapting to English football and Beto on two Premier League goals. Their approach regarding Isidor remains informal at this stage.

The Toffees have also been linked with Fenerbahce striker Youssef En-Nesyri, though talks over an initial loan featuring a £17.4 million option to buy have yet to bear fruit.

Sunderland have three senior centre-forwards, with Isidor competing with Brian Brobbey and Eliezer Mayenda. Brobbey appears to have edged ahead recently, starting eight of the last nine league matches and impressing.

The Black Cats have made one January addition, landing 20-year-old Ivorian winger Jocelin Ta Bi from Maccabi Netanya. He had spent the last 18 months on loan at Hapoel Petah Tikva, helped them win promotion last season, and has two goals and two assists in the top tier this term.
