Justin Kluivert this week became just the seventh player in Premier League history to score two hat-tricks in away games in a single season.
The Netherlands international is having one hell of a campaign at Bournemouth; following his treble against Newcastle United on Saturday, he’s scored ten goals and assisted another three in the top flight. That’s his best tally since his second season at Ajax in 2017/18.
Remarkably, after opening his account in the 2-0 win over Arsenal at Dean Court in October, nine of Kluivert’s goals have come away from home. Only Mo Salah (11) has netted more on the road.
The 25-year-old’s hat-trick against the Magpies was also the 20th scored by a Dutchman, while he’s the fourth Dutchman to net multiple hat-tricks in the Premier League after Ruud van Nistelrooy (5), Robin van Persie (5) and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink (4). Notably, his dad Patrick is missing from that list.
But Kluivert also joined an exclusive list of elite players who have scored two hat-tricks away from home in the same season, including the likes of Ian Wright, Luis Suarez and Harry Kane.
