There are more and more whispers about a potential Joao Pedro move to Barcelona, with reports today in Catalan paper Sport that the Blaugrana sporting director Deco is coming to London for a meeting with the striker’s agents about a potential bid.
It’s very worrying that the media in Spain are clearly pushing this story now. We’d imagine the player is at least interested in hearing the offer, and this feels like a saga that will run all summer, no matter how unlikely it becomes.
With top target Julian Alvarez looking hard to sign, the Spanish giants have moved on to Joao Pedro.
Yesterday’s news in the Daily Mail was that JP is “untouchable” and that there is “zero interest” in selling him. We’d imagine that’s Chelsea’s stance for now. He’s one of a small group of transfer successes that the sporting directors have had, and they wouldn’t be keen to cash in on him so soon.
