Don Goodman has tipped Norwich City winger Borja Sainz to make the move to Leeds United in the summer.
Sky Sports pundit Don Goodman believes that Borja Sainz should swap the yellow of Norwich City for the white of Leeds United in the summer, if the option is available.
The winger has been a shining light in what has been a poor season for the East Anglian side, along with striker Josh Sargent.
The Canaries have sat in mid-table for the vast majority of the campaign, coming close but never quite breaking into the top six. After another season in the Championship was mathematically confirmed over Easter, Norwich sacked their manager Johannes Hoff Thorup.
Now back to the drawing board and looking to restart their project all over again, it seems likely that Sainz could be off on a new chapter in his career in the summer.
Leeds are reportedly tracking the 24-year-old, as they could make a move for him this summer. The Norwich winger has already outlined his desire to play in the Premier League, and now the Whites are promoted, he could be tempted with a move to Yorkshire.
Speaking exclusively to Football League World, former West Brom striker and Sky Sports Pundit, Goodman, weighed in on Sainz's situation, and discussed whether the Spaniard should make the move to Elland Road.
"It's been a poor season for Norwich City and I suppose you'd say that it's hard to be convinced that even if Borja Sainz stays that Norwich will be fighting at the top end of the Championship next season," Goodman told FLW.
"Having had such a stellar season, I'm pretty confident that Sainz would want to try to play Premier League football or very high-end football in Europe.
"Obviously, Leeds United would offer Premier League football, so it would be a no-brainer if you ask me.
Of course, the nature of Sainz's season with the Canaries means that Leeds won't be his only suitors heading into the summer window. There will likely be a rather large queue of clubs after the 24-year-old's signature.
There were plenty of clubs from across Europe eyeing up the Norwich star in January. Galatasary, Girona, Napoli, and Atlético Madrid all had their sights on Sainz, but his current employers held firm, as they didn't want to lose a key player in the middle of the season.
Recently, Sheffield United have emerged alongside Leeds as competitors for his signature, but there's no guarantee that the Blades will be playing Premier League football next season, as they face a play-off campaign.
Having outlined his desire to play in the English top flight, a move to Elland Road seems the more likely of the two. The Whites will likely be able to attract higher-quality players than the Blades in the summer, even if Chris Wilder's side do end up promoted, meaning they'll stand a better chance of survival.
However, Sainz certainly won't be short of options to get himself out of Carrow Road this summer, if he desires to do so.
