Exequiel Palacios ‘could change clubs’ within Bundesliga after World Cup return

According to BuLi News, RB Leipzig are monitoring Exequiel Palacios, with Martin Demichelis behind their interest. The midfielder could change clubs within the Bundesliga after the World Cup.

He featured only against Jordan at the tournament, as defending champions Argentina lost to Spain in the final.

The 27-year-old is under contract with Bayer Leverkusen until 2030. After another injury-hit campaign, he made only 18 Bundesliga appearances in 2025/26.

Demichelis has replaced Ole Werner at Leipzig as the club prepare for their return to the Champions League.

Palacios will take a summer holiday before reporting for Leverkusen pre-season. Leipzig have already signed Borussia Mönchengladbach’s captain Rocco Reitz to replace free agent Xaver Schlager. The 2022 World Cup winner joined Leverkusen from River Plate at the start of 2020.
