Haley Carter, Orlando Pride Vice President of Soccer Operations and Sporting Director, has left to take on new career opportunities. In just three years, her name appeared frequently in team stories on this site. She made Pride roster adjustments appear seamless.
Under the guidance of Carter and the Pride coaches, the team went through monumental challenges in all competitions this season. In the NWSL, they finished the season in fourth place, right behind their nemesis Portland Thorns, with 40 points and a record of 11-8-7.
After winning the 2024 NWSL Championship and Shield, this season the Pride made it as far as the league semi-finals. Carter pledged to work closely with the club to provide a seamless transition for her position. This ensures that Head Coach Seb Hines and staff can stay focused on preparing the organization to compete next season.
The seamless goal will be challenging. Carter stayed closely involved in the Pride’s search for depth in their roster year-round. As she departs, much work was completed to deepen the team at the goalkeeper position behind Anna Moorhouse.

Over the past year, the Pride acquired players such as netminder Katherine Asman, one of just four women to win as many as 50 matches for Penn State. More recently, they acquired goalkeeper Cosette Morche. In their inaugural season, she helped Fort Lauderdale United FC of the USL Super League go unbeaten in March.
Morche was a nominee for the Save of the Year award.
Carter’s emphasis was to build a deep Orlando Pride roster of championship-caliber players at every position. So the next sporting director will have great weapons to work with as the team loads up for a deep run in the NWSL next season.
The Pride organization wants another championship.
