Tunisia has booked its ticket for the round of 16 of the U17 World Cup, with the final stages currently underway in Qatar.

The Carthage Eaglets qualified after finishing among the eight best third-placed teams in the group stage.

To discuss Tunisia's standout performances in the first round of the U17 World Cup, Foot Africa sought the opinion of Tunisian journalist Ahmed Adala, who had this to say.

Several Carthage Eaglets stood out in the tournament. I’m thinking especially of central defender Abdessalem Akid (Club Sportif Sfaxien), who impressed with his defensive skills and ability to play cleanly out from the back.Striker Fedi Tayechi (Club Africain) also has tremendous potential, even if he still needs to work on his finishing.I also can't overlook the outstanding performances of Wassim Slama (Paris Saint-Germain), who has confirmed his status as one of the brightest hopes in Tunisian football. In this respect, I hope he recovers quickly from the cruciate ligament injury he suffered in his knee. Finally, goalkeeper Slim Bouaskar (AS Roma) is a real asset—he has all the qualities needed to become the Carthage Eagles’ number one in the near future.

To recap, the Tunisian team finished third in their group with 3 points, after a 6-0 win against Fiji, and two defeats—against Argentina (0-1) and Belgium (0-2).
