Crysencio Summerville has suffered a setback in his recovery from a hamstring injury, Hammers Chat can report.
The Dutch international has been working to a return in recent weeks, with an expectation he would feature last night against Chelsea, however we can confirm that he’s in fact set for a long spell on the sidelines.
“West Ham winger Crysencio Summerville could be out for an extended period following a revelation that his injury is worse than expected,” it states on Hammers Chat Patreon.
“This news comes as a huge surprise after footage released by the club over the weekend showed the £25 million summer signing fully involved in Hammers training.
“We have been informed this morning that last season’s Championship Player of the Year could be sidelined for as long as eight weeks.
“This will be a massive blow to new West Ham head coach Graham Potter, who only had the chance to use Summerville for 45 minutes during his first game in charge, the FA Cup clash against Aston Villa.”
