The Football Association have confirmed their decision over potential retrospective punishment taken against Erling Haaland for one moment on Sunday afternoon.

The Norway international was at the centre of plenty of drama during Manchester City’s 2-2 draw with Arsenal at the weekend, both through his performances and goalscoring antics, as well as his brilliance in terms of adding needle to a footballing rivalry.

As per clarification from MailSport’s Jack Gaughan, it has been confirmed that the Video Assistant Referee reviewed the incident involving Erling Haaland and Gabriel Magalhaes after Manchester City’s equaliser against Arsenal, and deemed that no action was necessary.

As such, it has now been confirmed that the Manchester City striker will not face any retrospective punishment over the incident, making himself available for the club’s upcoming Premier League encounter against Newcastle United on Saturday lunchtime.

Manchester City will return to action just 49 hours after the conclusion of their hotly-contested meeting with Arsenal in the Premier League, as they welcome Championship side Watford to the Etihad Stadium.

The two sides meet in the third round of the Carabao Cup, with Manchester City originally issued with the option of switching the game to Thursday night of this week, but playing the game away from home at Vicarage Road.

Having taken the decision to reject such an offer, Manchester City are understood to have felt it more beneficial to spend more time resting ahead of their next Premier League encounter against Newcastle United on Saturday afternoon.
