Former Corinthians defender Fábio Luciano believes Barcelona would be the ideal fit for Breno Bidon, whose breakthrough in 2026 has sharpened European interest.

He highlighted the midfielder’s speed of thought and movement as a natural match for Barça’s style, while noting there is still a pathway to complete. BBC Sport reported that Arsenal monitored Bidon during the January window.

European attention dates back to his youth sides, with PSV, Napoli, Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid and Barcelona having made enquiries, though no formal bids have arrived.

Frequently likened to Pedri for his control and passing, Bidon is rated at 19.3 million euros as the most valuable under-23 midfielder playing outside Europe’s leagues, according to a recent study.

Corinthians regard him as a key asset as they target 2026 sales of R$ 151 million. He is contracted until 31 December 2029, with a 100 million euros release clause for overseas markets and a R$ 370 million clause for Brazilian clubs.

This season he has played all seven matches and scored two goals, trusted by Dorival Júnior in both deeper and more advanced midfield roles.

After this year’s Majestoso, Bidon said he has long dreamed of Europe and the Champions League, as many players do, but reiterated his focus remains on Corinthians.

He is available for Thursday’s Campeonato Paulista match against Capivariano at Neo Química Arena, kick-off 20:30.
