Fabrizio Romano: Arne Slot to Leave Liverpool Immediately

After a disastrous title defence which saw Liverpool finish 5th in the Premier League, Arne Slot is set to leave the club.

For months, the club’s stance has been to stick by the Dutchman, who guided the club to it’s 20th league title last year.

Despite a brilliant debut season, the evidence has stacked against Slot this season and now Fabrizio Romano has claimed it is over.

Speaking on X he said: “EXCLUSIVE: ARNE SLOT AND LIVERPOOL TO PART WAYS WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT.”

“It’s over between the Dutch manager and Liverpool after end of season review.”

“Andoni Iraola, clear favourite to take over as next #LFC head coach.”

As Romano states, AFC Bournemouth head coach Andoni Iraola is the favourite to replace Slot in the Anfield dugout. 

The Spaniard has guided Bournemouth to European football for the first time in the club’s history after an impressive 6th place finish in the Premier League.

He looked to be set for a move to AC Milan, but talks broke down. Bayer Leverkusen were also interested, but it seems Iraola was holding out for the Liverpool job and it looks to have paid off.
