Chelsea are believed to appreciate Strasbourg manager Liam Rosenior, who’s doing a good job according to Fabrizio Romano.
It was reported on Thursday Enzo Maresca is high on the list of candidates to replace Pep Guardiola when he decides to leave Manchester City.
Maresca is believed to have an internal problem at Chelsea, which was highlighted by his comments after last weekend’s win against Everton.
There’s believed to be tension behind the scenes, and Maresca feels there’s been a lack of support, especially after the defeat to Atalanta in the Champions League earlier this month.
The Italian switched agents to Jorge Mendes earlier this Autumn, and it’s understood Mendes has a close relationship with Man City sporting director Hugo Viana.

It’s been reported Chelsea aren’t planning to part ways with Maresca, but Romano has stated the Blues have an appreciation for Rosenior.
“One coach they appreciate for sure because he’s already part of the BlueCo group is Liam Rosenior, who is doing a great job at Strasbourg the other club of BlueCo group,” he told his YouTube channel.
“But it’s just an appreciation for someone they know internally and they’ve been working with, but then at the moment to suggest that Maresca is 100% leaving that Maresca is going to Man City that Pep is leaving Manchester City that Chelsea are preparing their future, we are not at this stage at all.”
David Ornstein believes Rosenior will be a Chelsea manager in the future, but when that is isn’t currently known.
Amid the backdrop of all the news about Maresca, Chelsea face a tough trip on Saturday lunchtime to face Newcastle.
