The summer transfer window barely has a few days left but FC Barcelona are still not fully satisfied with their operations. La Blaugrana aim to make a move or two even now in the final few days of the window. However, after closing recent exits, Barcelona may have some ideas in mind.

One of the most clear aspirations that they seem to have is the fact that they hope to sign a new left-winger. At the moment, it seems that the Catalan giants are not fully satisfied with the current depth that they have in that specific role and they want to ensure that simply missing out on Nico Williams does not mean no alternative arrives.

That is where a lot of reports have been claiming that the main priority is being given to Serie A winger Federico Chiesa. The 26-year-old Juventus forward, who would also be an economically viable option, is currently the player that Barça believe would be their most achievable signing.

However, as pointed out by the ever-reliable Fabrizio Romano on his ‘Here We Go’ podcast, the interest in Chiesa is definitely there but there has been no formal offer from Barcelona as of yet. Yet, Romano did mention that contacts between the Spanish club and Chiesa’s camps are ongoing and that could mean something optimistic is brewing.

The Juventus forward, however, is not the only option on the table. Romano has stated this before but he continues to reiterate that the option of Bayern Munich’s Kingsley Coman is still one that is active and on the table for Barcelona to consider. In his case, the structure of the deal would most likely be one that involves a loan transfer primarily.

With barely time left before the window ultimately closes, Barcelona must make their move quickly. Beyond just the arrival of a left-winger, however, the Catalan giants continue to feel the need to acquire the signing of a new fullback as well before the window closes.
